Hello everyone new to the forums and was wondering if any prior enlisted personnel have heard back yet? I know the common thought is that the boards generally meet in April but diving into some older forums I saw a lot of people got theirs in March and some even in January. Any information helps. I am sure the wait is killing everyone as much as me haha.

I'm a currently enlisted LEAD applicant. I haven't heard back yet and from what I understand/ reading these forums/ LEAD appointments (mostly Prep slots) will go out sometime in April. Trust, the wait is killing me as well haha. Best of luck, and I'm sure we'll see PS appointment threads popping up left and right this time next month.

I'm also a LEAD applicant and I'm so glad I found this thread! I haven't heard anything either, hoping it's before April though.

I was notified of a Prep School Slot on April 22nd back in 2012. Times may have changed, but that seems to be the trend.

I have been hesitant to reply I figured you were anxious enough as is. A couple of us have heard back already I was notified about three weeks ago. I am not sure what determines who gets selected earlier, but good luck to you all!

That's awesome for you guys! I didn't get mine done till the tail end of Janurary, not sure when you guys finished your applications. If you don't mind me asking were you a direct appointment or prep and what is a summed up version of your application just to compare if I'm competitive

Congratulations! But same here LJFalco I finished mine the last day and it wasn't even marked completed until mid February so the fact that someone got theirs doesn't scare me too much lol.

Same boat as y'all, my app was 'complete' mid February.. I know of a few enlisted that finished theirs way early on and went to the DVP that were offered appointments there. I didn't even know about the LEAD program until late 2015 and was still submitting a few forms (dang tattoos) up until the end of last month.. So I'll just have to continue waiting..

Was just called into work (on my day off/worked last night, they made me think I was in trouble) and was greeted by leadership congratulating me on my prep school appointment! Sq/CC said he just got the call this morning. Best of luck to y'all waiting to hear back and I hope to see y'all in Colorado Springs this summer!

LJFalco,

You could possible find out soon. It seems the Academy sent a wave of prep school acceptance letters on the 18th. I know a few people at my base and another base, including me, who found out by our commander in the past couple days. Good luck.

Any news for any LEAD Applicants? I'm currently enlisted and haven't heard anything yet. I know another member at my base hasn't heard anything either. Just anxious. Last time I spoke with my counselor was on Monday the 28th of March, and she said many of the Airman packages(mine included) still needed to go to board. Not quite sure what that means, but hey, we haven't been rejected yet.

Also, a question for any enlisted members who have been accepted already. Do you find out first from the email saying to check your portal or does your commander find out and let you know? I'm curious about the sequence of events for being notified.

Any info will be good to read and of great help.

Thanks,
TJ

TJ,
just like the direct entry threads, my advice would be to not give up hope if your portal still says candidate. I heard at the end of March but was dead sure that I wouldn't hear back until April (that's what all my reading had led me to believe).
As far as the sequence of events, your commander is given 72 hours advance notice before they send you an email and update your portal. This gives them a chance to surprise you (mine did). Either way, it will update on your portal eventually and you will find out.. Regardless of if your CC notifies you.

Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Still waiting here. Another airman in base was notified last week that he got it. I'm staying hopeful and chalking it up to the timing of out packages. I submitted mine last minute and I know my liaison didn't get her part done until way after.

Good luck and remember no news can be good news.

I'm waiting too. I applied directly to the Academy and not the prep school because of my age. Anyone else on the same boat?

I'm in that boat, too. Stressful. My academics qualify for direct, but who knows what's going to happen.

I'm anxious too. I've had two commander's call within these last 3 weeks thinking he was going to give me the news.... Nothing :,(. There is still hope!

Right there with you! Commander is on leave this week too, which is just adding insult to injury on my end!

That's pretty much exactly what happened to me (besides he ALO part), I'm sweating bullets over here! It is kind of comforting that I know there are others in the same situation. They do say most enlisted guys find out mid April and hats coming up so we will see!

I'm not going to lie, I haven't been more anxious in my life. I read through all different types of topics in this forum and it kills me to see people rejecting an appointment to the Academy. I will be giving up my follow on to Kadena if I get accepted! If get an appointment tables will be flipped of how happy I'd be. I agree with LJFalco on it being comforting seeing other Airman on the same boat mainly because there is still hope for us.

Good luck to all and looking forward to the future!

Hey, just a short question, would prior college credit affect my ability to apply for the prep through LEAD? When I was in high school I took an early college program that left me with a number of credits.
