Is April 15 the last possible day to recieve an appointment before placed on NWL? I know a lot of people are still on hold. Does the academy send out many appointments during these next few days?

We are on hold too. Almost ready to pay our deposit to cal maritime academy. But not quite ready to accept it yet....

In the identical boat here. Did you attend Cal Maritime Day last Saturday? Son went and really enjoyed it and will be happy to go there. Pulled the trigger on the deposit as we're pessimistic on USMMA at this point. If this forum is any indicator, a wave of appointments were made first week of April, then prep offers were made early this week, then prep student appointments were made yesterday. I get the sense they're all but done.

Not giving up until denied. :) Looking through the last couple of years there have been appointments given through the first week of May. Good luck to all staying sane! Deposit paid at SUNY Maritime (couldn't go to accepted students day last weekend due to a crew race)

Don't give up hope. (but it's good to have the backup plan) There will be another wave once the first group accept/decline appointments. Good luck to all.

I'm surprised USMMA would wait so long to deny so many people but it is what it is. I'm sure many of us will be wait listed

From what I understand it is a matter of logistics, if you will. . . there is a certain number of appointments that are offered. . . . . not all that get appointed in that first round accept. . . some may also be courting other academies or institutions and KP may not be their first choice. As those appointments are opened up, then the alternates are chosen. . . . I know in my class way back in the old days, there were those that got appointments very late in the game. . . so it isn't a matter of denial, per se. . . . it is a matter of clearing the books. . . .
