Approved Waiver Question

So I know this question might be too specific but before I go around emailing I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.

DS was DQ'es when applying to USMA in the fall but a waiver was requested and we had a good feeling that it would eventually be waived. After winning a ROTC scholarship in the second board his DQ still wasn't waived and a new window for that waiver appeared on his portal.
DS's USMA waiver was just approved but there is no word on the ROTC waiver (which we were told had lower standards for granting a waiver). We stopped into the ROTC office when visiting the school for accepted students day and they believed that he was cleared even though his DoDMERB portal said it was still pending.

I guess my questions are: has anyone else been in the same situation and do you think it is likely that the ROTC waiver will be granted since the waiver to USMA already was?

Thank you

Just went through this with my DS. USMA grants their own waivers as does all the SAs. Cadet Conmand makes the waiver decisions for AROTC. It is possible to get a waiver from one but not the other as I have read on this forum.

It has been my experience that DoDMERB is slow in updating. My DS was emailed nearly a month ago that his waiver was approved but the DoDMERB site still says pending waiver review. This may be why your ROTC office is telling you that.

These things do take time. We were waiting since November. Be patient and keep the faith. Good luck to your DS!
