How many Cadets are they accepting for the class of 2017? What percentage of prepsters (on an average) get appointed to The Point?

Which "prep" are your referring to? USMAPS or Civil Prep schools?

USMAPS takes about 225 prepsters.
About 200 of those will get appointments to WP the next year.
The main reason for the ones that don't get appointments is because they drop out due to failing grades.

My DD is currently at USMAPS Class of 2016. On R Day there were 240 Cadet Candidates, 111 Recruited Athletes, 40 prior service, and 25 Females ( about half of the females also fell into one of the two prior categories of recruited athlete or prior service). Leaving 64 males who were neither recruited athletes or prior service. The Commandant told the parents about 85% will receive a appointment to go down the hill to USMA. The appointments for USMAPS CC for the USMA Class 2020 have not gone out yet, but the 85 % is looking about right, at least 30 CC have out processed during the year. Some of the CC have been told to leave for behavior or academic issues, but many have left for their own reasons.

So my DD just heard from her admissions advisor concerning USMAPS. She had emailed her to ask if current college applicants could be considered for Prep. Her response was that she showed at "risk" in English and Science and that you could only have one risk area but that her leadership score was very high. My DD is a Space Physics major at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University!? She has a 3.5 CGPA of which is a B in a higher level Freshman physics class and an A in Physics lab. She also took Eng 101 in High School and tested into a speech com class instead at the university level. Her ACT scores were lower than they like to see in those two areas. Just goes to show you how much weight they place on those tests. Sad

Hi- did the
Appointments go out for usmaps yet? Just trying to figure in the 1050 accepted appointments plus 200 for usmaps = full? Thank you and congrats to your DD

I'd like to know if the USMAPS received their appointments to USMA and have been notified?

Thank you- so if 2019 was at 1262 then most likely after the 200 appointments go to prep the class is full.

^I think some of the last comments are re. USMAPS prepsters getting their appointments to USMA for c/o 2020 (they're wondering if the only spaces left for appointments to USMA are going to the ~200 current prepsters).
