Hi, I'm new here and currently I'm an International Candidate for Admission. Two weeks ago I was contacted by the admissions officer and was told to send immunization record, color vision testing and dental records. Is that a good sign? Or they require that for everybody before considering the candidates for admission? I didn't send those papers because I didn't see on the application that I was required to send that. Also, I was told that international candidates that are admitted always hear about their appointment by the end of April or early May.

I would appreciate any feedback regarding this.

For US citizens, the color vision testing is a requirement with your application as part of a medical screening. The dental records and immunization records are required prior to day 0 but not prior to acceptance.

I would say it's a very good sign. If I were you, I'd get right on it and would communicate to them your serious interest as you are gathering the info.

Thanks for replying Mman5247! I already sent them the color vision, the immunizations and also a letter from my dentist stating that everything was good. This week they ask me to send a panoramic X-Ray, but the one that my dentist gave me is a digital one and I only have it on CD, it's not hard-copy. Do you know if they accept that?
I'm dying to know if I've been accepted or not and I want to get it over with all the papers. Thanks again for your encouraging answer!!

Hi. DS is also an international student applicant....:)

Go to http://www.usmma.edu/academy-life/related-health-services-documents. Look for the Dental Forms Checklist, where there is an e-mail address to send digital radiographs when hard copies are not available. Hope this helps.

Also waiting to hear from admissions!! DS taking it much better than mom.....o_O

I'm right there with you. I'm too anxious these days did your DS had to send just a panoramic or the bite wings too? And if you had to, did you send it to that address?

He sent both, but we had hard copies so he fedexed everything, along with the immunization records and new color vision test results.

I received this today from my admissions officer:

"I have great news. You have been cleared medically. I will begin to proceed with the next steps to getting you here".

Can I assume that I've been given an appointment?

I don't think any of us can answer that. "Taking the next steps" is a far cry from having an appointment and could mean just about anything.

Hello, as of the 17th day of May I've successfully completed and satisfied all of the documentation requirements and I've been officially given an appointment to the class of 2020!

Looking forward to seeing everybody at Indoc!!
