Sometime you get away just because you are telling the truth. Years ago I was heading in to watch DD's morning colors during PS. It was a beautiful clear Saturday morning and I was going "well exceeded " the posted speed. I was lucky to be cited "TA-21-801(a) driving vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on highway" (I am copying this from the citation that I kept to educate my kids) instead of a more serious offense by the MSP officer. He even explained to me that I was being cited for a "lesser" charge. It was a good $90 fine.
Be ready and willing to accept the consequences of our action, folks, and don't just count on our lucks!
Edit: I did show my military ID because the expiration date on my driver's license says "military".
