Disputing Medical Waiver

I was deemed medically disqualified and seek to dispute the decision. How do I go about doing such a thing?
 
When that happened to my son in 2014, I was told that the school needed to ask for a waiver and that was the only way. I was told that it depended on how much they wanted him, i.e., if that was the only thing pending for him to get an appointment. KP did request a waiver, my son went back to doctor appointments, provided additional documentation and the waiver came, but it was too late for an appointment, and they offered him NMMI.

I'm not sure that is accurate. The individual is the one disqualified and all individuals have a right to redress their grievances. This is why there is ALWAYS a waiver/reconsideration/appeal process when it comes to Uncle Sam. It doesn't follow that decision to pursue a waiver would be left with the school. Its possible that your request may have to go through the school and require their endorsement.
 
According to the DQ letter my son got;
Service Academy, if the admissions office determines you to be "competitive " for an offer of appointment, they will initiate the medical waiver process.

It goes on to list the other scenarios; National Scholarship, on campus scholarship, other programs etc.

Nowhere is there instructions for initiating the waiver process yourself.
 
if my son's waiver is denied they will be my first call
 
@BumSkillet are you asking to dispute a disqualification because you do not have the disqualifying condition or do you want a waver because the medical condition will not interfere with your ability to be an officer?
