It is a pretty widely accepted fact that NB shoes run .5 smaller than other athletic shoes (any runners on the forum know that they sometimes wear a full size bigger in Nike and other brand running shoes than they do everyday shoes), so my question is: should DD assume the measurements asked for on the form are for NB and subtract .5 from her regular running shoes? Any advice for the dress shoe measurement as well?

I thought I saw something on a Youtube video that kids were getting feet measurements on Iday.

HELP!

They use this measurement on the form to help order the right sizes. They will measure and try on shoes on I Day. If they don't fit they will try on until they get the right size. Just pick what size you think is best. In fact she will try on everything on I Day before she leaves Alumni Hall to verify it all fits. An officer or Detailer will ensure it all fits and send back items for other sizes if they do not.

DING DING DING--Response of the day goes to NavyHoops! This is almost exactly the reply I got back from USNA uniforms dept. Happy to check one more item off the list.

I may or may not have been through 1 I Day as a new Plebe, a few as a detailer and nearly 10 as a civilian. My buddy owns a company that issues gear on I Day (and through out the year). He always needs extra hands to issue stuff, so a bunch of us old grads take the day off work and hand out stuff to nervous plebes. We offer words of encouragement and tell them we survived so will they. It's a fun day. Then We go drink that we aren't Plebes anymore.

Hope you come across my son on IDay. He will appreciate the encouragement, I am sure.

I won't be there this year! I was last year. But plenty of my buddies will be. Most don't remember much from I Day. I remember a good chunk of mine. We even had turkey sandwiches for lunch!
