If I failed my AP Government final, would I have my acceptance rescinded? I'm not sure if it shows on my transcript or not.

Are you saying failed the final, or got an F as a final grade? Two different things. You can fail the final and pull a C from a grade perspective.

I would not be worried if you failed the final and pulled a C. I would be worried if you failed the cl

No, you won't get your acceptance rescinded for failing a final. Your final grade is what goes on the transcript and is subsequently what USAFA sees. And, I'm pretty sure that since you are already accepted, they don't go back and look at final grades after the fact. I think you're fine.

Yellowfellow,

I mean this with kindness, but it is time to truly get on board with what life is going to be like in a few short weeks. You have missed submission dates and now this.

I wish you the absolute best, but I am seeing a common thread...OOPS, did I just hurt myself? Threads you started as an OP.

This is now the 3rd thread you have created that leaves me personally asking if you get it? .
1. Suspended in HS should I declare it to USMA
2. Missed the criminal record suspense date for USAFA
3. Failed my final, am I in jeopardy.

HS is easy compared to USAFA. USAFA is easy compared to ADAF.

My very best wishes, hopes and thoughts, but, honestly you need to get with the program.
~ Flame on.. I am okay with it. I just feel that there is an ongoing pattern with yellowfellow and we do no good to him by ignoring it. Be honest, accept your faults. Improve yourself and you will succeed, but if you enter now always looking to be a special snowflake or not stepping up, than you have made your own bed.

Your future is in your own hands...take control of it today. This is an anonymous forum. If it was me, I would throw every opinion in the circular filing cabinet, including mine, and fight for my life.

You are incorrect if you think USAFA does not check final grades. We absolutely do, and we will contact the high school guidance counselor of every appointee to make sure that nothing has happened in the final semester that may require a closer look. Every year there are a few appointees that will have their appointments rescinded in late May or even June for one reason or another.

...and hence why final high school and/or college transcripts are required before I-day.

This isn't specifically for thefellowfellow, but all appointees: Don't stop pushing once you get your appointment. I know its hard with senioritis kicking in and watching all your friends slack off that last semester of school.

You were chosen because USAFA believes that you aren't someone who would do that. That you are someone who will continue to push hard in school until that last day, someone who will continue to work out all the up to I-day, someone who believes in excellence in all you do. This is what they expect now, when you're at the Academy and once you're commissioned. Remember - peoples' lives may depend on you some day and you need to be dependable.

Pima, you said exactly what needs to be said. Very wise words. I believe the academy sends an email to each selectee's HS guidance counselor asking for notification if a class is failed or disciplinary action is taken for whatever reason prior to graduation.

An mail was sent out on Friday 5/20 by the USAFA asking to appointees school counselors to report a student who has failed any courses, received disciplinary action, or has been suspended.

Let's take a vote:

Yellowfellow = troll: 1
Yellowfellow = high school kid with bad attitude:

I can honestly say he is not a troll.
While it is arguable about whether his attitude is bad, it is indisputable that it requires a major adjustment before he shows up in Colorado Springs.

Pile on yellowfellow that's real constructive. Looks like a bunch of bully's when you read this forum and the others he's involved in.
Feel free to message me or start some more constructive comments. Your DS/DD must be so proud.

Yellowfellow, I will assume that you are not a troll. If I am wrong and you are a troll, my advice applies to you equally.

The people in life who achieve their goals are not necessarily the smartest on paper. Many of them did not score in the thirties on the ACT or in the seven hundreds on all sections of the SAT. Instead, they achieved their goals because they are willing to work hard and not waste other people’s time. Many of the young people on this board would trade positions with you in a heart beat. They would hand you their TWEs and do everything in their power to make sure they took advantage of a USAFA appointment.

Yellowfellow, no one is suggesting to you that you have to be perfect. No one is suggesting to you that you cannot get a B or even a C, but they are telling you that you have to try. I hope that in one month, if you show up in Colorado Springs, you are ready to give the USAFA your very best. If you are not willing to do that, I suggest you man up, stay home, stop posting on this forum and figure out your priorities. The taxpayers of this great nation are entitled to your very best, nothing less—and nothing more.

I wish you the very best and hope that you mature a lot during the next twelve months.

I have exchanged PM's with the OP and can assure everyone that I'm convinced he is not a troll.

I agree with B52LTA, that excessive piling on just doesn't help matters. The OP understands that he has dug himself a substantial hole both academically and in this forum. He has made good progress academically. I have been doubtful about similar progress on the forum, until reading the posts from Superior Rocks and B52LTA.

I have advised him to stop reading the forum and concentrate on preparing for his finals and getting mentally ready for AFA. I recommended that he channel AFA questions to his ALO.
