The head WP varsity baseball coach was released in mid-May and my DS's last correspondence with him was a note saying: "I'll be in touch at the end of our season to let you know what to bring to CBT and I'll give you more information." (I believe he was let go the day after the season ended). I don't believe that a new coach has been hired yet. Does anyone know if all varsity sports offer an informational opportunity during CBT? Or do you have any other thoughts/advice/information?
Thank you!

Definitely what 14mccpa says. Contact the assistants. Typically the day before Rday the corps squad teams have a welcome picnic. At this time, athletes drop off their personal sports gear to be stored in the team locker room so they are not lugging it around on Rday. There's a chance to socialize, meet players, parents, etc...but also to unload your glove, cleats, and whatnot. You need to find out about this. =)

Is this only for recruited new cadets or also for those looking to tryout/walk on?

There's no problem contacting a coach. Just email and say, "I wanted to introduce myself. I'm ArmyAsister and I'm a CC for c/o 2020 and I'm planning to try out for your team. I look forward to meeting you this summer." It puts you on their radar. Good luck.
