ROTC Question

If everything else is good but I have bad teeth (underbite) will that count as a dq in ROTC for any of the branches? Also, I never learned how to swim. Will that affect me directly or would I have to get swimming lessons?
 
If you can chew your food without causing digestion issues, you should be okay (at least for Army). My DS1 had a major mandible mallocclusion (sp?), but had it corrected surgically and was able to pass the dental screening.

Swimming lessons won't hurt. Army ROTC requires a water survival swim test that you must pass in order to advance. My DS2 is not a strong swimmer and still passed the swim test as an MS-I. He also observed some cadets who were non-swimmers. They were given crash courses in swimming and the battalion was very supportive of them. Most of them eventually passed, but some did not and will have to repeat.

I am sure it would have been better if they came in after taking swim lessons.
