My daughter is a 3 Yr AD scholarship winner, entering her sophomore year.

We paid for college the freshman year and she did NOT pass the AFPT test yet due to the run time only. We thought she had a bruised tailbone, but she had a big pilonidal cyst that required surgery as soon as school was out in May.

Fast forward over 2 months, and the wound has not healed. She will never be able to pass AFPT since she has not been cleared to do anything physical all summer long, plus she needed to shave off over 2 minutes on the run.

I'm guessing this scholarship is a total loss- a value of about 200K since she was at a private school.

Does anyone know if they give medical leaves for a whole year? They said it could be a full year before that area heals and closes due to location. We can't afford for her to step on campus in Sept. b/c if they pull it, we can't afford it.

Thanks to all.

She can certainly speak to her cadre prior to stepping on campus to get a definitive answer.

Yes, of course, thank you. He has been away doing service for the summer and should be back by August 14th.
