Congratulations! How much sleep did you get a night?
First detail I generally got about 6 to 6 and a half hours of sleep. You are allotted 7 hours to sleep, but some of this time I had to use doing things like packing rucks, shining boots, going to the bathroom, etc. During 1st detail, if you had to take a dump, you basically had to go during sleeping hours because during the day there was never enough time. The first 3 days of CBT I didn't take a dump because I didn't realize I was allowed to leave my room to go to the bathroom after TAPS and they never gave us time to do so. So, pro tip, buy a watch that can have multiple alarms set at once, set one for 3 am each day during 1st detail, and take your dumps every day at 3 am. Also, set an alarm for about 15 minutes before wakeup time and get changed, brush your teeth, shave, etc. at that point. If you let the cadre wake you up at wakeup time you have like 3 minutes to do all of that and cause yourself a lot of unnecessary stress. Sometimes on Sunday you are allotted 8 hours of sleep, but not always.
Second detail I got about the same amount of sleep for the first 9 days, but on day 10 we went to Camp Buckner and stayed there the rest of the detail. Once I got to Buckner sleep changed a bit. We would spend 1 night in the field and 1 night under a roof, alternating each day. In the field sometimes we got less sleep because we did things like patrol bases. When we did patrol bases we got about 3-4 hours of sleep sometimes. There was nap time sometimes the next day though if we were allotted very few hours to sleep. Other than that, 6-6 and a half hours of sleep per night as well. Sleeping in the field was also kind of horrible because it rained basically every time we slept in the field, some nights I only got about an hour of sleep because I was very uncomfortable and cold in the rain.
Don't worry about sleep, your body will adjust to it really quickly. I used to not be able to function off less than like 8 hours of sleep, by the end of the 1st week I felt perfectly fine off only 6 hours of sleep.
Edit: Second detail there was enough time to take dumps during the day so I did not have to wake up every morning at 3 am to do so.
