Hello all,

I've finished my 3 teacher evaluations. Now, I want to notify people who I want to ask to write my Letters of Recommendation. I know I am highly encouraged to do this and I know I can submit to a maximum of 3. What I don't know is how do I submit them? Is there a certain form that they should use? ONLY ANSWER THESE TWO QUESTIONS DO NOT GO OFF TOPIC AND START ARGUING

Other than that, I am so thankful for the feedback!!!! THANKS :D

On your portal it gives you instructions for submitting additional LORs including the fax number :)

Make sure to read all the print on your portal page. You will find it.

wjk,

Threads always go off topic, and if they don't go off topic the reason why is because the thread died from boredom.
Honestly, impo your post of don't go off topic was just the opening volley to make it go off topic, almost like it was a double dog dare. Had you not included that statement it would have died a perfectly good death.

Now to give you a piece of advice...before you start asking questions that are easy to find by yourself on your portal take the time to search high and low by yourself for that information instead of taking the quick and easy route to get it from helpful posters.

I get it you have found an asset in this site, but please don't :
A. Use it as a spoon feed me because this was the easier path to get the answer I am looking for.
B. Don't get rigid.
~ Sorry, but I knew the answer and after seeing this same response of stay on topic from your other thread, I walked away, I felt that 1 sentence was harsh, especially coming from a brand new poster. It was to me stay off my yard unless you belong here.
~~ Mods will step in when it is needed. On the other thread you got your answer. It then went off topic. You stepped in and reprimanded posters and what did it do? It died.
~~~ You could have just said okay I have my answer and let everyone else go off book, It would have been no harm or no foul to you.
C. Why do we go off topic?
~ Because this is a forum, where we also are talking to the broad spectrum. Sure, for you, you are AF only, but what if you had not thought about the other options after figuring out that noms are a factor
~ I am off topic now, just like the others, but let me ask you a question? Will you re-think writing that reprimand again on each of your posts? Or will you just go...my question is answered, I am outta here, let them have a party?
Not trying to attack, trying to explain how that sentence impo did nothing, but secure the fact that it was going to go off topic.
I think the portal described the LOR options last year, and I suspect it does this year as well. I would suggest that you make it worth while. Not just a garden variety LOR, but rather a thoughtful letter from someone who can attest to knowing you well, but who isn't obviously biased, and who can give an objective assessment of your character and capabilities, with specific examples of why he or she feels you are a strong candidate. My son's HS Principal wrote one, and it compared my son favorably to other students at the school who were successful at Service Academies, and described the similarities between those former students and my son, while making very favorable comments about my son and his accomplishments at the same time. Examples of character and leadership are always good. The Principal's letter for my son included a comment that my son was looked up to not only by his teammates, but by all of the students at the school, because he was the type of kid who was kind, thoughtful and a good example to everyone, and was well grounded, particularly for a successful student and athlete. As a father, of course I thought that was a really touching thing to read, but I think it is the type of comment that an admissions team may remember too.
