I've been posting a lot in a couple different forums, so I figured I'd better introduce myself. I'm a high school junior in northern VA that has been set on becoming an officer in the United States military for as long as I can remember. I admit that I change my mind often about what service or job I would want, so that's why I've been in a lot of the different forums lately. I expect my path to become a bit clearer once I begin the admissions process (December! :)), but until then I'll be trying to get as much info on ROTC and the academies as possible! There are some amazing and knowledgeable people on this website and I can't wait to interact with them!

Make sure you look into Boys/Girls State. It is look on very favorably by all the academies and ROTC programs. You would participate between junior and senior year.

If you are in VA-01, check this out:

If you are unsure of a specific service, check out the US Merchant Marine Academy. A good portion of USMMA grads transfer into the other 5 services after graduation. (To be fair, a great portion of grads stay in the Merchant Marine.) Good luck.
