USNA 2021!!!!!

Congratulations!!! DD received LOA and still waiting for the nomination interview in November.

Got the appointment today!!! God is good!!!!
Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear :) It feels pretty unreal but so good!

Wow, congrats!!! That's great news!!!

I'm sure others will ask, but:

What was the source of your nomination?

How did you find out about your appointment?

Congrats again!

My son received his appointment email notification yesterday also! Super proud of him.....he has worked so hard for this opportunity.

Congrats to all...time to bubblewrap! :)

I am curious about this too. Congrats!

First of all, Congrats to you! All of my next thoughts are related to how? DD is working so hard but so many things are out of her hands. She waited for the school counselors to tweak the new ranking system, she waited for her BGO officer, she waited for her nominating LORs to get in hand, our Congressman and Senators don't even interview until Dec, etc... so many steps you have gone through so quickly! Nice work.

Presidential nominations maybe, or are these LOAs? Either way, Congrats!

My son did not get a LOA, he received an appointment with a presidential nomination. My advice to all applicants that qualify for a presidential nomination and have a competitive package .....get your admission packet completed as soon as humanly possible. Get everything done and turned in by the time the admission board meets in September, before the congressional/senator nomination interviews even begin for others. Don't procrastinate!

One of the takeaways here is that the appointee above apparently had the appointment charged against the finite number of Pres noms allotted to each class, regardless of how many are eligible - that is one less available for others. Even if candidates are eligible for the non-competitive Presidential nom, they should also apply for noms from all available sources.

@murfthesurf, are you going to contract out your services as 2021 appt stats thread czar after your 2020 project? Or have you trained your relief?

And congratulations to the appointee, the roller coaster is now manageable, until it's time to do all the pre-report stuff.

It is kind of surreal to be reading these posts of those waiting with much anticipation and instead of sending my DS texts that say stuff like did you get the letter of recommendation from ----? ,and have you finished that plan B school application...? Now I'm sending him texts saying stuff like "How did your seamanship and navigation test go?" and "So you lost a bet with a firstie...what do you owe him?" and 'When will you get released for Christmas break? We gotta get your plane ticket." And ""try to call your mom on Saturday...she misses you".
Congrats to those who have heard good news and hang in there to the many still waiting. I look forward to seeing this place as they start rolling out the offers in couple of months.

Congratulations!! Bubblewrap for a child that plays multiple sports might be tough. They are all invincible and will tell you so. Youngest daughter missed out on CGA summer do to ankle injury in field hockey which only became worse during ice hockey season. Finally needed surgery and lost her summer visit. All applicants should get their paperwork in as early as possible. The Congressional nominations come much later but USNA will review and there is always a chance of a LOA. Good luck to all.

For all those hopefuls out there who are now thinking, OMG, appointments are already going out, and I don't even have X done yet, these are just the first few scattered outlier dots of the regression analysis graph. The bulk of appointments comes much later, as the elected rep noms packages get racked and stacked.

Congrats!!!!

But having a DS going through this process, I realize that getting things done is easier said then done. He finished his portions of the applications in Aug, but the school profile wasn't finished until late Sept. One of his recommenders took forever to submit his recommendation. And even after conducting the BGO interview a month ago, the BGO hasn't submitted his eval.

There are certain things out of the control of the applicant, and there is only so much he/she can do,

@navymom2021 and @navyafgirl, was everything on your application complete including the BGO evaluation????

Congrats again!

True story but I'm trying to take deep breaths. As others with a lot more experience than me said, this is around 200 of the 1000 openings, right? The rest all will be trickling in during the months ahead through the "normal" channels.
