Can anyone explain the size requirements to me? My son does not fit in the chart because he is very muscular. At AIM they were talking about taking a ratio measurement of neck to wrist to waist. I'm not sure how that ties in to the application. He is currently 5'11" and 200lbs. Will that keep him from getting accepted?

If you do not meet the height/weight requirements, you have to pass a tape test. There is a form they will send you one you submit your application, to be completed by your doctor or school nurse.
Cadets must have 22% body fat or less. The CGA tests this by measuring the neck below the Adam's apple and the waist at the belly button. For someone 5'11", waist - neck must be less than or equal to 21.5".

16" neck, 37" waist is OK. 15" neck, 38" waist is out of compliance. Hope this helps.

How about for females. My DD is only 5'2" and at about 138, but strong as can be. I thinking she must be tipping the scale a bit.

Does anyone know how strict they are about MINIMUM weight? I know everyone always stresses over the maximum, but my DD has the opposite concern. She borderline passes on a good day, but if she's busy, sick, or working out too much, her weight drops down below minimum easily. I hear kids lose a lot during SWAB summer also, but is it ok to drop below the minimum once you're weighed in?

MY DD is considered over weight. She does a squat with 125 lbs. Can do 45 push ups and 65 sit ups. Her muscles are adding weight. If she is exceeding weight and the time of the January application. Can she state she will meet the proper weight by the May decision time?

How far overweight? her weight will only be an issue if she's still heavy on RDay ... does she beat the tape? how tall is she??

Are you saying weight does not matter at the time of the application. As long as she is fit by R-day?

Correct ... she'll want to get closer ... obviously . .. but doesn't need to be 170 until July 26 (I think that's RDay 2017) ... or she must beat the tape ... for women I think it's waist at navel + hips around buttocks - neck ... will she pass that

That is the only issue. 32 composite on ACT. HS GPA 4.00. 10th out of 452 seniors in HS.

So if at the application she is 7-9 pounds over. That will not impact and appointment? As long as by R day she is.

Thank you. So if she is 175 or 178 at Application date. That will not impact an offer on a appointment? If she is at 168 by May 15th.
