LOA

Congratulations! My DS just received his LOA today as well! I'm the most excited about the LOA from the Air Force Academy because it is my DS's first choice. He received an LOA from West Point and Navy, but he said that he HAD to get an LOA from Air Force.
 
Its DS's first choice too. He also has one from West Point but nothing from Navy yet... 256 days until I-day fyi :)
 
Congratulations!! How exciting! May I ask, are you still waiting on your nomination? My son is applying and I'm still learning the process, thank you:)
 
Congrats on the LOA! Remember to let your congressman know that you have an LOA when you go in for the interview. Sometimes they know, sometimes they do not.
 
Yes, still waiting on the nom. Senators don't interview but the rep will in Nov.
 
Congrats to all !!! does the candidate application need to be entirely complete, including the ALO eval before the Review Board reviews it ?
 
Yes it does. Everything except a nomination and the DODMRB Medical Physical. But everything else must be done or the review board won't even look at the application.
 
DD had her congressional NOM appointment on 29OCT, and was told of her USAFA LOA by the panel. The portal was updated the next day 30OCT. Happy to come out of the interview with news like that, and even happier to see it confirmed through the portal. Not that we were dis-believing, but there's something special about seeing the actual document. We'll find out in the next few weeks if she receives the NOM to go with it...but I dare say, we're feeling slightly optimistic...

Out of curiosity when did your daughter complete her whole application by?
 
She completed and uploaded her CFA as the final piece to the applications on August 28th.

I have no recollection of DD saying anything about this. All I remember is that she was excited to have the USMA application portal open up sooner because she attended their SLE. However, due to some software glitches, the USMA portal actually opened much later than her USAFA & USNA portals. When she started her USAFA application, she was given a completion date of 01NOV16, if that tells you anything??? Her applications to all three SA's were finalized when she uploaded her CFA on 28AUG.
