Anyone heard from the NROTC this week?

I read that the 4th NROTC Navy option selection board met last week 11-15 to 11-18. How long until the house begin notifications of scholarships? Are 4th board all 4 year scholarships, or are there some 3's mixed in too?

I'm fairly certain the board did meet last week, but it'll probably take a week or 2 before they start the notifications.

I haven't either. My portal shows "The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application" but no decision has been made on it. Is this what everyone else's is showing too? Does anyone know when the next board is? Also, if I have an ISR, should I have heard something by now?

The third board met 15-18 NOV. Results are typically out within two weeks of the end of the board. The next board is 29 NOV-2 DEC.

All NROTC National scholarships are 4 year. NROTC does not offer National scholarships that are less than 4 years.

Ah. Thank you. I was wondering when the next board would be, if we didn't make it through this one.

What does that mean for a College Programmer reapplying as a freshman (with less than 30 credits) for a National Scholarship? If awarded, wouldn't that be a "3 year scholarship", assuming the MIDN graduates on time?

I believe to be precise, All NROTC National scholarships awarded to High School Seniors are 4 year scholarships.
All NROTC scholarships including side loaded scholarships and advanced standing are national awards.

ALL NROTC National Scholarships are 4-year awards, even those awarded to college freshmen with less than 30 credits. In the case of college freshmen, it is up to the individual units to update the reporting system to reflect the students' actual graduation date. Officer Development relies on the units to ensure that college freshmen still graduate on time, even though they have in fact been awarded 4-year National scholarships. In rare cases, a college freshman who receives a National scholarship may actually still use the benefit for the next four years- this may occur if/when a change of major occurred and it will benefit the Navy, or in cases where a school transfer took place. In general though, college freshmen receiving National scholarships will still be expected to graduate on timeline.

Side load scholarships are not "National" scholarships. They are awarded in a national competition, but the term "National" only applies to the 4-year awards that are open to high school students/students with less than 30 credit hours. When the term National scholarship is used, it is referring only to the 4-year variety, Navy or Marine option, to include the likes of ASR, ISR, MSISR, etc.

My DS status shows the same. He too, is waiting for his ISR. It was awarded in early September, but from following the status messages on the portal, it looks like it was probably just reviewed at the last board, so we are waiting anxiously. It would be great to have that confirmation and university admission via early action by Christmas!

Oh great! Good for him. So then it looks like mine would have been reviewed by the last board as well? Just for clarity, I'm not too familiar or understanding of the NROTC Board processes.

Congratulations! What region/area do you live in? We're in FL and my DS in anxiously waiting!
I am in Florida as well. Have you heard anything yet? We are in Florida too and have not heard anything thus far.
