I would like to get my plebe's sponsor family some sort of gift, but don't know what. We met them once, at PPW. The gift would be shipped across the entire country, so anything breakable is out. Would locally made products such as various food items be appropriate? We have thriving locally made beer/wine businesses, but I am very hesitant to send that type of gift. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Edible Arrangements is always a good choice as they do some great presentations. Sent to the home from local and arrives the day it is sent. Add some chocolate dip and it will be a great hit.

We always got our son's sponsor family a gift certificate to their favorite Italian restaurant in Colorado Springs. They appreciated it and always texted us on the night that they were using it.

I'm a big fan of Harrington Ham. I'm not sure the size of their family but I know I get huge thank yous and raves.

Our family has sent a lot of gifts across the country, and the suggestions above have all been hits. We love restaurant gift cards. Another idea is a fruit basket or tower from either Harry & David or Costco. They come in different price ranges and variations, with some including chocolate, cookies, brownies, nuts, dried fruits, coffee, tea, and more. You will get more bang for your buck with Costco's gift baskets, but sometimes you can find H&D online coupons at retailmenot.
