Worth 16 minutes of your time. The phrase that stuck with me, roughly quoted: "Leaders must remain teachable."

The other thought that resonated was why he stayed in the Marine Corps - not the money, and despite all the hardships - the spirit of the Marines. I think any of the veteran posters on here who stayed on AD for any length of time past their obligation and didn't regret a minute, share that same feeling.

Thanks for posting this Capt MJ. Gen Mattis was a well-liked, well-respected Marine. This video is appropriate for all military leaders regardless of branch.

And I love that the Marine Corps does these videos.

Officially announced by Trump tonight during his speech in Cincinnati. It's a secret that's supposed to stay in the room though! :)

Thanks Capt MJ for the video and agree with USMCGrunt that it is applicable to all services.

Our cadets and young men and women in the services will be in good hands under Gen. Mattis

I'm starting to think Capt MJ is sponsored by Task and Purpose!

I just find interesting stuff there; it's like the "Early Bird" in many ways, a quick digest of trending stories. I actually had the same thought, whether I was over-re-posting from the same source. Before posting, I cross-check with other sources, to see if a reputable news outlet is also carrying the story.

:director: I heard that General Mattis is scheduled (by special request made in September ) for a Forrestal Talk on January 23rd.

Would love to see that one!
