Appointment Package for those who received an offer of appointment: Class of 2021

Don't spend too much on backpack. Most likely they'll never use again. They are issued a backpack and they'll use moving forward. Don't show up with a suitcase! If it's not on R Day list, don't bring it!

So the rest of us should be hearing today, I hope!??
Unfortunately, confirming travel order numbers for the Class of 2021 and completing Early Action (EA) reviews for the Class of 2021 have nothing to do with each other, but the final EA review board concluded about an hour ago and we'll release all remaining EA decisions as soon as they're approved by the Director of Admissions. Whether that's tonight, tomorrow, or later this week is entirely up to him.

Does this include CGAS appointments too if it's official (not conditional)? If not, when could CGAS kids expect theirs?
I would recommend contacting LT Kessell, CGAS Program Manager, about when CGAS appointment packages will be released...he's probably the only person who would know for sure.

Thanks very much for the information. Fingers crossed, toes too!

:::gulp:::

Agree with Red410, thank you. The waiting has been difficult! Happy Holidays to everyone at USCGA.

From the 2021 Parents FB page

Twas the day after EA and the CGA Admissions processing staff worked furiously to get appointment packages out before the Holiday!

Things to Remember:

1) You need to return the Statement of Acceptance/Obligation with your son/daughter's ORIGINAL birth certificate and social security card.

2) New this year-birth certificates and social security cards will NOT be returned to the Cadet until AFTER R Day. If you need to apply for a passport (a required item for Swabs) please do so before mailing back the Statement of Acceptance/Obligation.

3) As always, read anything we mail you in it's entirety and follow directions carefully.

Standing by to help!

So now the internal debate rages ... should the package arrive before Sunday... do you give it up right away or do you hide it, wrap it, and stick it under the tree?
All appointment packages were mailed today via USPS Priority, so the majority should arrive by Saturday.

Interesting...this is to discourage accepting other SA's and declining CGA later after acceptance?

Cadet Administration, not Admissions, made this change and I don't think that office cares who accepts or declines. They'll definitely return the documents if the appointee changes their mind and decides to not accept the appointment (for whatever reason) to CGA. We have two or three each year who had accepted, but then decline after being picked up off wait lists at another service academy or a civilian college. We just fill those vacancies with applicants on our own wait list...no big deal and just part of the process.
