So I just completed my first CFA and I am a little worried. Do you think I could pass with these scores?

Female
BB Throw-48
Pull ups- 2
Shuttle Run- 8.0
Crunches- 55
Pushups- 20
Mile Run- 9:04

I have already received my nomination and this is all I have to pass now.

I haven't taken it yet (will take in a week) but these look similar to the scores I have been getting during practices, except that I cannot do a pull-up. I'm very nervous about my mile time which is similar to yours, but hopefully our scores will be sufficient enough to get us in!! Good luck!!

IMHO mile and push ups both seem a little low. You're pretty late in the game but do your best to improve those two areas and I would suggest you retake it.

2 pull ups is good. Push ups are low. Mile run is slow. None of know the pass line, but your mile and push ups are the areas that I would say are questionable pass/fail. Keep working hard on it!

Nope I heard nothing back! so I'm assuming I passed. Not that I'm trying to sugar coat anything but for the record I /DID/ just recover from a hamstring injury prior to the CFA so my mile time was low but my scores were

BB throw: 24 ft
FAH: 32 seconds
Shuttle run: 9.2
Crunches: 46
Push ups: 27
Run: 8:10

and for my BB throw I have no excuse. I got a personal trainer to help me with it and practiced for months but I just suck at throwing the damn ball.

When did you submit your app?

How are you throwing the ball? I found that I could do so much better if I twisted my body as far as I could go and held the ball behind me. Then uncoil your body slinging the ball kind of over head. I dont really know how to explain it in words.. haha. It didnt work well for me any other way. I just tried to figure out a way to maximize power.

I can see that in my head & how it would help. I just leaned back from my hips, aimed with my front hand then sling shotted the ball over my head

For the candidates: Minimum to pass the 1.5 mile Physicsl Rediness Test (PRT) as a Plebe (or in any year) is 10:30 for male and 12:40 for female.

I recommend trying to improve your results and submit them by the deadline (end of this month).

Best of luck!

Do you know how long it takes to submit the scores? I guess what I'm trying to ask is, when is the last possible date to take the test? I know that the administrator submits them electronically but does USNA receive them instantaneously?

It is submitted via email by a qualified individual per admissions policy. The time stamp of the email is the official date/time submitted.

Isn't 31 Jan the official deadline? You could take it on that day and have the scores submitted on the same day, but what if something goes wrong (your physical condition, the test location, or internet is down)?

My DD took her CFA on 1/10/17 and the next day it was shown in her portal as complete. Now she is just waiting on a Nomination, she has an LOA. Good luck to you!!!

I took my CFA on 12/16/16 but because my administrator didn't click the correct number of "submit" boxes it wasn't submitted until 12/27/16. So the submission is instantaneous but there are several boxes that pop up that you have to click "ok" and/or "submit" and/or "confirm" so be sure your administrator does that correctly
