Triple Qualified

It was my understanding that candidates were informed of whether or not they are triple qualified reasonably quickly after submitting an application. I have had my files complete for USNA, USMA, and USAFA completed for a couple weeks and I was cleared by DoDMERB in November. I still haven't received a "3qd" letter or any other form of communication. Is this normal? Thanks.

I was told that USNA does not notify candidates if they are 3Q'd. However, USMA does tell candidates that they are 3Q'd. So yes, it is normal.

Just for your knowledge, you will not get any communication from USNA about your application until you get a yes or no if everything is completed. I finished my application since early November but I haven't heard a word from them yet.

USNA no longer tells applicants whether or not they are 3Q.

Did you send your 7th semester transcript btw?

Not yet, the semester hasn't ended and they should be available early February , I think that could be the reason why.

I believe that USNA requests them from your school directly and USAFA will notify you if it is needed. West Point seemed to ask for it automatically in early January.

You will know about two of your qualifications -- CFA and medical. Your BGO or RD can tell you if you've passed or failed your CFA and your medical status should be on your portal. USNA doesn't inform you of your scholastic/Admissions Board qualification status.

The closest thing I've gotten to being notified I'm 3Q is my BGO telling me I am. I wish the Academy told us straight up whether we were or not XD

Only reason DS knew he was 3Q'd was that his BGO told him.

I think the process should change because they keep anxious people in the dark, which makes it even more difficult.

I thought BGO's didn't tell candidates that? Did they just say "Yes, everything looks great here" or did they say "Yep, you're triple-Q"?
Yep he told me to my face. I emailed him after I received my nomination and told him about it and he repeated it again in an email. I guess it varies according to the BGO.

BGO's can access a report on their candidates that includes the following information: Board:Q
Med: Qualified
CFA:Qualified
I assume this would be triple qualified.
