My status on DoDMERB has recently been changed to Pending Waiver Submission/Review and then the day after it said that Date letter sent- Disqualification for medical code 213.40 which is

Current or history of parasomnia, including but not limited to sleepwalking, enuresis, or night terrors after the age of 15.

Does this mean I am disqualified from NROTC? If so, can I get it waived any way?

Each source has a different process to review and grant waivers.

I do not know enough about the specific disqualification code to tell you what is possible by a different service.

If you are competitive enough, NROTC will also conduct a review of the DQ code and determine the next steps.

I have a DD that was DQ'd in Jan 2015 for cataracts. USMA approved a waiver in Feb 2015, USAFA never processed a waiver request and AROTC approved the waiver in Jan 2016.

You should be able to see the status of each commissioning source on your DODMERB portal.

So I know the status says pending waiver submission/review, but what will the letter of disqualification say?

I have never personally seen one but I would guess that your portal would be updated to say waiver not approved. I would think that your application portal for your commissioning source would first be updated to say waiver is denied before you see it on DODMERB. Remember, DODMERB is responsible to evaluate your medical history to a set of standards and report to the commissioning source those results. The commissioning source, with input from the medical teams make the decision if this is a waiverable condition.

DS got one. Letter explains what DQ means, DoDMERB's role and next steps in the process. Just sit tight and wait for instructions. How you respond to further instructions is important. There are plenty of threads about this and people with experience on this site.

I agree. I have seen the DODMERB letter and it does explain the process as well. What I have not seen is how the update to the portal will look if the commissioning source does not approve the waiver.

So since my status says pending waiver submission/review, does that mean they are still reviewing it for a waiver?

DS had waiver denied by USMMA. Just said "waiver denied - USMMA"

This means that the commissioning source has not yet started the waiver process. If you are competitive, they will most likely consider it and may submit it. Get ready for a long wait, these things can take a while. The best thing you can do is monitor the portal and schedule anything that they ask for.

Alright sounds good... I believe that I am very competitive as I was chosen during either the first or second board...
