DS received letter on portal saying admissions committee reviewed his file and found him academically and physically qualified but that his medical status remains "undetermined at this time". His medical exam results were received at beginning of January. Nothing has been posted since about any remedial or need to additional info. He received 3 nominations for his state. Will they fill these slots with others because he is not yet medically qualified? Can we find out what the hold up on medical is? Is it normal to take this long to review or does it indicate a problem? Any info on how this process works is appreciated!

Log into the DODMERB site and look up his status. That will give you the up to date info on where it stands. You can also call the DODMERB technician assigned to him and they will be happy to help.

Thanks jebdad. Nothing on dodmerb site except that the med and eye reports received. Tried calling today and was told the dodmerb system is down and to call back tomorrow. Hoping to get some insight before then. The waiting is tough.

Have you tried to reach out to your RC? They will give a bit more insight to your questions.

I got the exact same letter 2 weeks ago and just got the waiver approved. USMA's WA is just processing the paperwork. Your DS will receive a PDF on his portal soon! Keep checking DODMERB though just in case they want more information on anything.

Sticker - Call Dodmerb tomorrow and ask them if a waiver has been requested and if any additional testing or information is required before it goes before USMA's waiver authority. I have found them to be very helpful and they will tell you exactly what you need to do and you can get a jump on anything that needs to be done if, indeed, there is a condition USMA is considering for a waiver.

Thank you for the advice. Does this letter indicate there has been a disqualification or other issue or could it simply be normal delay in processing? That's what I'm trying to determine. Again we have received no remedial notification on portal. My DS will call tomorrow. And will they fill the MOC spots with someone else because his file is still incomplete/unresolved? Or will they hold his spot if they deem him best candidate in the group?

Yes it could be just the delay in the process and you may be jumping the gun to assume a waiver will be required. It is still quite possible that DoDMERB has not yet process the file to determine qualified, remedial or DQ. It would be rare that an applicant would go directly to DQ without some sort of remedial process.

As long as he is the leading candidate for the slate, they will not move on to the next candidate until his medical status is resolved. Of course, at some point they would have to move on, but that would not occur until plenty of time has been given to make a medical determination.
