Help me out

True, but not at Prime Time with the networks breaking into programming to cover it live, the only live coverage was on the cable stations and it was in the afternoon.

I live in Seattle and the time doesn't bother me, just everything else I mentioned previously.

Mr. Jcleppe, not too belabor the point, because I really don't care all that much - but if you can't see the inconsistencies in these two statements, made just eleven minutes apart...then I don't know what to say

You're right, and I agree that in the whole scheme of things it's not that big of a deal considering the ratings cage match every news organization is in these days.

I think the the thing that rubs some the wrong way is the desire for spectacle. Other announcements have taken place during the day, usually in the Rose Garden, weather permitting, and not during Prime Time with the networks cutting into programming to cover the announcement. Brings back memories of the "Lebron James Team Selection Show". The President didn't usually announce he has made his choice a day or two before while telling the press "You'll have to wait for the announcement on Prime Time, you'll be very surprised". If the decision was made they don't have the two "Finalists show up together" and then end the announcement with "Well, were you all surprised....We're you?" I half expected him to hand the Judge a Rose.

This. And more, given what I've read about the event this AM.

After last Saturday's rally at CIA Headquarters, we should have seen this coming. There is no issue, event or forum which POTUS will not make about himself.

God forbid he has the opportunity to award the Congressional Medal of Honor:

"I always wanted one of these."(Actual Trump quote when given, as a gift, a Purple Heart by a supporter). "If not for a medical disability (bone spurs), I probably would've won one of these."

Lots of things to debate about the past two weeks, but not sure the style of the announcement merits the same level of concern as other issues. The press and other interested observers are going to have to pace themselves or it's going to be a long four years.

A long four years for the haters.

Wouldn't it be great if the country thrived and we made a great deal of progress? I doubt some would welcome a second term even if President Trump excelled.

Some haters will not accept or recognize success by him, twisting everything to fit their preconception.

I'm hoping he, and we... have unparalleled success. Do you?

Absolutely, it can only help the country when an administration is successful, I agree with you 100% and I wish the new POTUS the best of luck, failure helps nobody.

I have the same hope that he and the country succeed and prosper over the next 4 years, the same way I did with the last administration and those before. I think we are all best served when everyone works toward a common goal, just like they worked with the last administration. For example, the Senate should begin hearings, vetting, and move quickly toward a confirmation vote for the new SCOTUS nominee, just like they did with the last nominee...oh wait, never mind.

This is nothing new, the hatred toward the previous POTUS was loud and proud and didn't stop until he left office, of course the same could be said for the administration before that and back as far as you care to look. Frankly I agree, My position has alway been that they are starting with a clean slate, I'll call out what I disagree with and give credit when things go good. I have no problem saying that I do not disagree with everything in the new administration and I support some things, but I have issues with others. I would imagine it's the same with a lot of people but your right, there are some that will never accept success in any form and that goes for both sides of the aisle.

The past couple weeks have been a little rocky, I didn't disagree with everything but some missed steps have been worth concern. Lets hope the next couple weeks improve.

I will say that it was a nice move going to Dover, I respect him for that.

Well said. The "ban" on travel seems to have been bungled a bit, mostly due to being too quick to keep a campaign promise over deliberation, and DeVos is earning poor marks on both sides of the aisle. Otherwise, IMO, it's going "bigly."

We "haters" developed our preconceptions during the campaign, when Candidate Trump gave us a hundred reasons to question his temperament. In September Candidate Trump said, “One of the benefits we would have had if we took the oil is ISIS would not have been able to take oil and use that oil to fuel themselves.” Okay, he's a candidate. There's hyperbole. I get it.

President for less than 48 hours Trump, from CIA Headquarters, followed that up with, "The old expression: 'to the victor belong the spoils' – you remember? You always used to say 'keep the oil.' I wasn’t a fan of Iraq. I didn’t want to go into Iraq. But I will tell you. When we were in, we got out wrong. And I always said: 'In addition to that, keep the oil.' Now I said it for economic reasons, but if you think about, Mike, if we kept the oil we would probably wouldn’t have ISIS, because that’s where they made their money in the first place. So we should have kept the oil. But okay. Maybe we’ll have another chance.

This is so skull-hammeringly stupid even Charles Krauthammer on Fox News called it a war crime. It isn't about us "haters". It's about him, by his own design. Trust me. We "haters" want him to succeed. This isn't fun.
