Blue chip athletes admissions

No. There are tons of factors into this. Some highly sought after recruits could get LOAs or an appointment early in the process but they are very few.

Always so helpful:) do you happen to know if college transfer into the Usna has to complete spring semester if accepted prior to the spring semester?

Why would you not want to complete spring semester?

And, of course, it's not a transfer . . . you start over at USNA as a plebe.

Save money. It is financially immature to spend thousands of dollars on spring semester tuition if you are to retake those classes at the academy.

Does admissions appoint recruits first?

My DD is a recruited athlete. Not sure whether she is a blue chip. She completed her application in mid-October and received her LOA by end of October. She does also have a 4.0 gpa and a decent SAT score. Not sure which factor lead to the LOA. Did have to wait until mid-January for an appointment due to medical waiver.

Congrats Dad

Take a couple online courses that apply to navy a no take a break in anticipation to a long summer.

Check with your admissions counselor on the requirement to finish a spring semester. If you are concerned about funds, cut back to 12 credits.

Not entirely sure I'm following the above. If you're just "taking a break," -- what are you going to do the next 4 years when there won't be any opportunities for breaks?

H.S. students have to finish the semester, why shouldn't you?

If I'm reading your response correctly, it appears you're taking the easy way out. That is not a recipe for success at USNA.

If I've misread your post, my apologies in advance.

That's what I am thinking. Is is acceptable to Usna?

Misread. Missed the two online. Purses related to navy

Sorry, but I don't understand the question -- if you wrote complete sentences, it might help.

If you're currently enrolled in spring semester in-person courses at college, you should finish them as you may be able to validate courses and you presumably have already paid so there is no real monetary loss.

If these are only on-line courses, then I don't think that quitting them makes much difference and, if it saves you money, even better.

Unless College applicant receives their Appointment early, you have probably paid for Spring Semester already. I suspect its rare for a College to grant a refund if you withdraw mid Semester, unless perhaps an emergency.

Further, you are wasting money and its certainly not "financially immature" to finish the Semester. Everyone attends USNA for 4 years, but college "transfer" may be able to validate courses, or even retake course that they have already taken and do better than they would have. The opportunity to validate just a couple courses, and perhaps lighten the load makes a big difference when taking 20+ credit hours.
