Major DODMERB Confusion

On my DODMERB profile it says I have been deemed quality "Qualified," and that letter DD2368 has been sent, with the agency as West Point. Meanwhile, my West Point Candidate Portal lists me as "Remedial." Am I qualified or not?

Were you at one time sent a remedial letter?

DD2368 is an official Q letter.

Never, the DODMERB website indicates that I am entirely qualified, it's just my USMA Candidate Portal.

If DoDMERB says you are qualified then you are good to go. Remember, they are the final authority on medical status. Your candidate portal probably just needs to be updated. Congrats

Anthony96...

Breath my son just went through the same thing last week. As Pima said the DD2368 is an official Q letter. My DS just got his official letter two days ago! :thumb:

DS's Medical just made it to DodMETS yesterday morning. Bout how long until it may reach DodMERB for review? And then how long is it reviewed for before it has a Q, NQ or Remedial? Just concerned about possible remedial for 2 mild concussions 2ish years ago....pretty much the only thing I am worried about!

Start A File

I have had some really great advise on medical...

1. START A FILE...
1a. Hard copy a set of files for your folder and then PDF all the files to a disk or memory stick. (Love this advise, currently doing it for all of my children.

"If" DoDMRB comes back with a "Remedial Code" use their site to see what the code means and start the foot work of what they want. You will also get a snail mail letter with greater detail of what they want and how they want it. IMO - This would be a good time to be a type A person by dotting the "I" and crossing the "T".

"If" DoDMERB comes back with a DQ...(I'll be corrected if I'm wrong) I believe it then goes to the Academy and they then request the waiver if they deem you a competitive candidate. (Again, someone with better insight might correct me on this so watch for a feed.

In regard to the lead / lag time of response I believe they are beginning to get more and more medical reports coming in so the review pile is becoming bigger. That said, my DS had his medical, review, remedial, more documents sent, re-review, and qualify status all within a month.

Hope this helps, all the very best to your DS.

Ok, I emailed West Point and it turns out that it was just a communication problem and that I am qualified!

DODMERB usually reviews the physical within a week of receiving it from DODMETS. DODMERB will definitely request remedials for the concussions. Your son may get DQed for it is well, however it is possible to get a waiver for concussions. I had a cadet who had two concussions in HS and was DQed for it, but we were able to get her a waiver for it.

@MohawkArmyROTC
Just an FYI....That post from @soccermomer is from 2013. Her DS should be commissioning soon (from an SMC, I believe)

Thanks I usually scan all the posts in the first page threads. Guess I will have to start checking dates now.

Believe me, this community GREATLY appreciates all ROO's and other cadre who take the time to post on the forum.

Thank you!!!

Yup, that was a while ago, BUT....he was not DQed for anything at that point. He was however, medically disenrolled this past January for seizures. I have a post about that floating around here someplace.
