Willing to Answer All NAPS Questions

It could, and had been offered as early as in the fall, when admissions decided a candidate can use that extra year to improve in a particular area to ensure his/her success at the academy. There should be more offered up to April 15.

Will NAPS appointees receive a packet with the proper 2017-2018 paperwork when it is released or will it all be through the portal?

If I don't have a nomination and am medically disqualified, is it likely I won't receive a NAPS appointment. I'm still CPR for some reason...

Are you DQ from dodmerb and have something that isn't waiverable? Did USNA not give you a waiver?

Curious, last year I saw there was a Battalion trip to the Army Navy game. Is this done yearly? Are there other battalion trips?

They normally go to the Army Navy Game and take a trip to USNA. Not sure if any others or if it has changed.

Seems to me I see the NAPSters at a home football game every year.

Yep, trip to the academy in October, Army Navy Game, trip to AWP for the prep schools football game, and a few more at the end of the year. Though there are opportunities for clubs and sports to travel as well.

@USMC1150, can you put me in contact with a prior that's at NAPS with you? I am currently enlisted (reserves) and I was selected for NAPS last month, I accepted the offer and sent the three forms (police record, proof of citizenship, and body alterations form). I am somewhat unclear about how and when I will be separated/transferred from the reserves into NAPS. I contacted my admissions counselor and he just said they will send out instructions to transfer me out to my command, but he didn't say when or what those instructions are. I just want to know more about this process. A prior reservist or active duty with some information on this would be very much welcomed.

Thank you.
