NROTC Board Review Schedule

My son's portal still shows "no decision" as of tonight. I have a feeling that we won't hear anything until the last minute since he didn't submit his application until just before the deadline. He got accepted to 4 of his 5 school choices including VMI, VT, NC State, and Memphis (in-state tuition) but did not get accepted to Vanderbilt. We are hoping he gets selected for the NROTC scholarship at VT or NC State.

Make sure your DS adjusts his school priority list appropriately based on what schools he has been admitted to and how he ranks them.

BTW, congratulation on getting admitted to a fine list of schools.

Yes, through the portal, until an award is made.

I didn't see where the schools can be updated through the link on the NROTC home page. Is the only access to check the application status through this site: www.netfocus.netc.navy.mil/nrotc/candidate_app/status_scholarship.aspx? It will help my DS application if he is able to adjust his list of schools. Thank you 5Day for this bit of advice! My DS is still awaiting a decision like many others and is making this mama very anxious!

I don't see where to update the school list either.

Odd, I checked as well and I can clearly remember an "update school list" option under the list of 5 schools previously, but now it isn't there anymore.

Maybe they removed the ability to do that since it is so late in the process?

I found this on the NROTC website:

For Application Adjustments, please email: pnsc_nrotc_applications@navy.mil

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Requests to change your first choice school must include your planned college major at that school.
Updates or additions to your application must be received prior to the application window closing.

The next board (second to last) starts this week, and the final board is currently scheduled for 18-21 APR. Results are typically out within 1-2 weeks after the board concludes. The board this week will also be reviewing ASR applicants, and the final board will also review MSISR applicants.

Thanks for the update. We weren't sure if it was one or two more boards.

DS's portal still says "no decision" so I guess he's still in the running. Fingers crossed and hanging in there. It seems like a long shot for anyone still waiting at this point... but lots of SOMEBODIES are going to get those remaining scholarships... why not us... or YOU? :) Good luck to everyone still waiting!
We were told last week by our local NROTC rep who contacted our college counselor that the last board was last week. She forwarded me the e-mail. He said there have been prior selects and non-selects so it was good that DD was still on the board but our portal is unchanged. He was already reaching out for next year's candidates. Really praying this comes through for her.

I was just quoting what our local NROTC rep said directly. He may have been incorrect but I have his response in writing. My understanding is based on past threads is that it usually 7 -10 days after the Board meets before the results come out. That part is just speculation on my part based on various offers and acceptances that I have seen. Please review NROTC-Quick Questions. I don't think I was too off base because it was my comment was also moved to that thread. I don't know that it really matters because we'll know when we know and the every secret process will stay secret. Good luck and praying for all who are waiting like us. :)

I think where the confusion is for one board or two boards... there is one board left... but two rounds of notifications we are still waiting on.

Is that correct?

Question on changing schools: Is it better to notify the board now that I didn't get into my 2nd choice school (in-state, so cheaper)? Or, should I just wait to see if I get the award and request transfer if necessary? My 1st choice remains the same (out-of-state, so more expensive).
