Hi, it's been radio silence on this section of this forum for almost a week...anyone hear anything regarding admissions either way recently? I am waiting (not so) patiently for news.

Thanks and good luck to all.

I have not heard either. If they tell you no in march, wouldn't you just be put on the national list?

Spoke with admissions 2 weeks ago. She contradicted herself several times. Totally useless info. Son moving on, accepted ROTC scholarship.

This isn't unusual. My DS didn't find out until April 13th (last year). There were others that found out later than that. If USMMA is DS/DD's number 1 choice, I'd say hang in there. If USMMA was a "back up" to other military academies, then it may be best to move on to ROTC. The stress of the academy only increases after this. Good luck.

Last week was spring break for the cadets. This may or may not be have been a factor. Admissions people might not have met. Hang in there, this school has been such a great fit for my DD and nobody would have guessed that when we started this journey!

So, we are 4 days from April 15th. Not sure if having heard nothing is a good thing, bad thing, or nothing. Also noticed in the 2020 appt thread that some got their appointment as late as mid-May. Does anyone know if everyone hears something by April 15th, either an acceptance, a TWE or a waitlist, or is it possible to still be on hold for another month with no news either way? Thx

I'm not sure. My DS called admissions yesterday and they said "appointment decisions are still being made daily".

Definitely not "EVERYONE".
Decisions will be made up until April 30th for any available slots . . .
Starting May 2nd, for those that Declined Acceptance, their offers will be given to those still remaining on the NWL.

Is there any way to know how many or about how many turn these positions down?

everyone is on the waitlist before the offer is made. But, if your question is how many were offered an appointment based on the appointment being declined by a prior appointee, I don't know if that info is out there. pure guess would be a majority of the 100 declines resulted in the offer of another appointment. The class of 2020 was initially 280. One did not show up to indoc, making 279.

Thanks for the help, its just such a tough numbers game. Being from New York i know makes it more difficult. Just wish is could figure out how many were on the list.

if it makes you feel any better, the numbers that are listed by the Academy do not "add up", at least they didn't last year for the year before. I am not a statistician but, I could not determine the real numbers of qualified vs. offers vs. accepted, and where those numbers came from, i.e. total applicants compared to qualified and unqualified and disqualified, etc. But, the Academy has said numerous times that they expect the numbers to be around 280 per class and that any more would tax the current physical plant etc. So, from the start, you were about 1 in 15. From the point of having a complete application, the numbers fell a bit. From being designated 3Q or NWL, I think the numbers dropped to about 1 in 3. I was able to figure out the "point system" for USMA that they use for admissions, based on studies done, recommendations made, and info on this forum; and was fairly close with DS' points there, but as for USMMA, there is just not that much out there.

Thank you for your response. I saw those stats also for 2020, they did not add up. I thought it was me. You just wonder how many are qualified. Thats the key number missing. I had figured about 1 in 3 or 4 also. Thanks again

Are candidates likely to hear first via MOC phone call, portal update or BFE/TWE? I have read conflicting answers to this and just want to know if I should be bothering to check my portal multiple times a day :)? Thx
