Specifically for the 3200, but any info on cross country/track times would be super helpful. I'm planning on emailing the coach, but I wanted to wait until after my junior track season so I have some good times. Also have fairly good academics/ECs(1500 SAT, good GPA, clubs, etc) if that affects the recruiting process at all.

Here is the 2015-2016 information provided by USNA to BGOs to share with candidates.

For males in track:

3200m: 945 as a sophomore and 9:30 as a junior for outdoor. Indoor 3000m is 9:30 and 9:15.

For male X-country, the coach is interested in:
  • Ordinal position on his own Cross Country Team.
  • The runner's place or ordinal position in his conference, district or regional championships and anything approaching a time of 16 minutes.
  • His place in the State Cross Country Championships.
  • Runner's mile or two mile and 5K times
You are right to contact the coach directly as well.
