TWE to Appointment

Congrats to all TWE's to appointments! How many are out there? Could you share the information?
I was told there were 6-7 last year. Thanks.

ID/DD or DS /TWE to appointment/ Date / Portal Update, email or call/ Nominations/ District
 
No it happens usually when the person who won their congressmen slate and they decline their appointment. Thus being handed down to the next person in line. Happened in my district this year.

That is not likely exactly what happened. WP would not send a TWE until the slate was resolved. Maybe if the slot winner accepted their appointment and then declined, but WP doesn't necessarily go back to the next person on the slate in that case. It gets complicated!
 
I've heard of it happening with AFA but not WP... I'm sure it must happen with all the academies as the huge shuffle as committed appointees change their mind. Interesting to see if anyone replies. :)

It was pretty inglorious on Saturday...giant black envelope laying on the front porch in the rain w/ all the pollen...and a purple/blue box mysteriously appearing on the portal.
#3 did not have a nomination from our senators or congressman, so there was no one to call him. I think other people recently notified received a call from the nominating source.

And then...yesterday he received a TWE from USMA (be still my heart--track practice could not end soon enough) that told him he better hurry up and hit accept because the deadline is 1 May.

Actually it does and did happen to my DD, but in a round about way. She was appointed to Civil prep by West point. All the slot winners above her had either declined or became medically disqualified, so it came back to her and she was offered the direct appointment in.
 
My guy never had a rejection...he received an appointment and then received literally a THIN WHITE ENVELOPE...but if you read the entire post, it was just a letter telling him to hurry up and accept his appointment.

My statement was not on this 'TWE to appointment thread.'
So, if that got your hopes up, you need to readjust.

I was referring to the situation in USNAMA2022hopeful's post about receiving a TWE and then an appointment.
I believe your DD did not get a TWE ( they don't do that for AOGs), so your situation is different.
Congrats to your daughter!

True. It wasn't a true TWE.
 
Apparently not because no one has mentioned it on the forums. Are you all still waiting? It can only mean that your student is competitive to be so close to the wire.
 
I think people are looking as the "waiting list" different ways. The academy has everyone ranked and those who do not have a chance of an appointment based on where they are ranked have already received TWEs. Those individuals who have not yet received TWEs still have open files and a chance of getting an offer dependent on many different things. I guess we could call that a waiting list but it is just semantics. As more individuals accept and the number of remaining appointments get smaller, TWEs will flow to others with open files.

Yes still waiting. DS emailed RC again 2 days ago asking if our congressional district's slate has been resolved yet, but has received no answer to this point. As of April 20, RC stated our congressional district had not been resolved yet.
 
My DS learned from a friend that her friend from NY received a TWE last month. Then yesterday received his BFE. He was shocked out of his mind.

Wow. then, this will be the first TWE to Appointment?

1. Unknown/DS?/TWE in April/Appointment on 05/02/2017/NY-?/Nom?
