The Inprocessing packet says that Appointees should bring running shoes and a pair of cleats (soccer style) to the Academy on June 25. At last week's Orientation, Appointees were told they would be issued running shoes (there was no mention of cleats). Appointees who purchased two pairs of boots at Orientation were told to wear one pair and carry the other to Inprocessing-- so it didn't sound like they even need/should bring a pair of running shoes and definitely didn't sound like they should go buy a new pair to break in before Inprocessing. We'd appreciate your thoughts, suggestions.

had a thread on this once already... lots of info there if you can find it.

no one in my flight brought cleats. only time you'd ever use them is for intramurals..

no need for running shoes either.. you get issued everything :) however, after acceptance day, definitely

i wouldn't bring running shoes. i brought cleats, and still use them for intermurals, but they definetely aren't critical. i just had (molded) ones from football practice and brought those out

What about orthopedic inserts? I'm kind of flatfooted, and it isn't an issue, but my sports doctor recommended arch support to take pressure off of my knees.

I was told by some 4digs that sliders/ compression shorts are a must. Would you guys say the same?

lol i wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to get some...

I would definitely prefer to have compression shorts if the PT shorts are as small as the ones they give out at summer seminar :bleh2:

don't worry guys, it's not a fashion show.
Plus, some of us will be using those BCGs so short-shorts will just be the icing on the cake.

Dude, i'm excited. I get to show off my sexy legs and have really cool goggles. Granted I'd rather have my WileyX goggles, the Big Cool Glasses will do fine! From what I've seen, i might not ever go back to contacts. Heck, I might not even get PRK just so I'd have an excuse for those things!!!

Yeah I wonder if they can fit under a pilot's helmet visor? I hope so!

Well, if you don't care about fasion, they are some of the most durable glasses ever produced!

I'll take my normal Rx glasses or my Sawfly shooting glasses, thanks!

I just got the sheet where you put your prescription and everything...apparently females have a more..."stylish" frame? hahahaha AS IF! Can't wait! lol
