Until you go looking for predominantly white running shoes, you don't realize how hard they are to find these days! Looking for input from Class of 2021 or current USMMA Midshipmen.

What brand and style running shoes are you using that are considered acceptable in color and style?

Thanks in advance!

There is a post on the KP Class of 2021 parents page about them. Also you can look at prior years Indoc on YouTube. I purchased a pair of Asics Kayano 23's Med Gray and white. And make sure to break them in.

@sevenrider860 interestingly enough, the styles offered through NEX this year are predominantly gray with some blue and white. From another forum where we've had lots of discussion about this subject, keep it in the white/gray body with blue and black as acceptable add on colors. Avoid neon or shoes without those four colors and you'll be fine.

Also, look at last year's Indoc photos and videos and you'll see the plethora of shoes the plebes wear. I'll go look for the NEX shoe pictures and post them so you can have examples. The most important thing is for you to pick a brand and style that the Plebe feels comfortable spending a lot of time wearing. Be sure to thoroughly break them in before arrival as well.

@sevenrider860, here are the styles from NEX for men and women, class of 2021:

@azmilmon,

Thank you for the information on the shoes. Maybe it is me, but there is no way I would call any of those shoes "predominantly white"! If I had known we were looking for "predominantly gray" shoes, there never would have been a question! :)

These are what my DS will have and there is a pair available with blue stripes that can be the second pair.

I know! That's the funny part. :scratch:

Here are the two pair our son is trying out (our local running store lets you test drive them for 90 days risk free!). I've been told that either will pass muster. @wilmaya, I like the look of yours. :)

Here is the other combination that will certainly pass. Azmilmom, your choices will certainly pass.

Nobody is really going to care about the color of your shoes, honestly. There isn't even that much running done during indoc. We did like 4 runs. The first one was frustratingly slow, and the rest were paced by speed group.

Good to know!

DD had a pair of Nike brand that were mostly white and faded to grey in the back. Most important, take note on what type and color your plebes sneakers are. Sometimes it is the only way to identify them in pictures!

Ha! Yes, they do all look alike, don't they? :D
