New Swabs Class 2021

Two questions:
1. The packing list for swab summer is available in the cadet handbook. However, there is no mention of what will be specifically needed for the actual school year. My swab is coming from Ky and we will not see her again until parent's weekend. Any information is appreciated.
2. My daughter is also former CGAS participant and has full CG uniforms from Marion. Should we leave them behind and purchase all new or could we save money by bringing them to CT?

I can't help with the CGAS uniform question other than suggesting that you reach out to Admissions. In the past, prepsters have brought all of their gear to reduce cost/reissuing of items but I can't say what the policy is now.

For school supplies, it really is up to your daughter and what she likes to use. It's college so it's not like the days of middle school where they would require you to buy everything from ridiculous sized binders and filler paper to tissues and glue that you never used. I wouldn't worry about school supplies, she will be given the time during CAP week (the week between swab summer and when classes officially start) to get to the cadet store to purchase supplies. Most cadets use the weekend before classes start to make shuttle run to Target run to purchase supplies. I used to buy a couple of notebooks and an accordion folder, other people used binders.

I hope this doesn't come across as critical because that is not my intention but your daughter is stepping into adulthood. She is not going to need, nor should she need, your assistance with getting school supplies. I can't say my parents never sent me some money here or there when I was a freshman but that was when we were only allocated $150 a month. Now, cadets receive a full paycheck for the E-2 level where they can manage their own finances based on how they want/need to spend money. Congratulations to your daughter! She is beginning an amazing journey!
 
I can speak to the uniforms. Bring them in the sea bag. There should be an area for them on 5th deck Roland. However, how they are to be handled will be set by the cadre and your DS will be informed at the proper time.
