Scholarship Commitment?

I received a 3 year army scholarship for college. I sign my contract next year but I'm a little confused about the commitment. All of the army websites say that the scholarship requires you to serve 4 years active duty followed by Inactive Ready Reserves. I really want to move to Los Angeles after I graduate and work a business career while also serving in the army reserves. Can I serve my obligation only through Reserves or do I have to do active duty at some point? Also can I serve Reserves in any state I want even though I was under a scholarship? Thanks!

Please accept this as constructive commentary.

Even if you get reserves...you CAN be called up ANYTIME! If you want the benefits of a scholarship, at some point the needs of your country have to come first.

I don't quite understand the multiple posts on trying to navigate the "fine print" about being able to remain a reservist and avoid AD.

If you aren't willing to serve active duty when called, then you should simply not accept the scholarship.
