I'm a decent swimmer and I know that I can validate the swimming course if i swim a certain distance in a certain time. Could anyone enlighten me on the distance, time, the stroke, and the size of the pool that the test is done in.

I think you'll be fine. I've heard that test is incredibly easy if you can swim.

For swimming, to validate, you need a 4:15 250 meter, do 75 meters underwater without surfacing, and prove that you can do the side stroke, breast stroke, and both the competative and elementary backstrokes.

uh, definitely not easy or else alot of people would have validated it lol

did you mistype or is it really 75meters?
That distance is no problem for me but 75 meters seems like an insane amount!

i did the swim team for 3 years and that distance will be easy...just a question as to when we take it??? i've been out of pool for 2 months now and was wondering if you take the test during basic....pretty sure i can validate

ok, that is a hell of a lot more human!! On my swim team (I always get crap because i'm a diver), there's what's called the "hourglass", and if someone does it, practice ends. It's starting in the corner of the pool, swimming underwater to the opposite corner, continuing along the shorter end to the corner along the long end that they started, then swimming to that opposite corner, then back to where they started, there's only been one person I can recall who has done it. and that was in a 4 lane pool so that has to be close to 75 meters, that's just plain crazy. 75 feet on the other hand, will probably be easy for most swimmers to do once they can mostly acclimate to the altitude.

The underwater swim is 75 FEET.

Oh thank God. I've been in swimming for all of high school and been captain for the last two years and even I was freaking out when I saw 75 meters. :shake:

Don't quote me on this, but I heard a rumor that all 4-digs will be taking swimming this year with the 3-digs...

I heard it's because of the pool being closed for remodeling, but I'm not completely sure if that's true.
