So rumors have been flying everywhere regarding FT next summer and how long it will be, what it will involve, etc.

Does anyone on this forum have any information on whether or not FT will actually be shortened to 13 days?

Is JFTC really dead? I've heard they're going to either get rid of it or move it to Maxwell or maybe not change it at all. I don't really know what to believe anymore.

Finally, does anyone have any idea how many maxes there will be? What confuses me most is I talked to some of our exec cadets and they said they had heard rumors about 13 days but had also apparently heard from the region commander that there would be 7 maxes. I imagine this is probably accurate so if that's the case they're either trying to get FT done in just half a summer or they're not actually shortening FT. If anyone has heard otherwise though I'd be very interested in what you've been told.

Thank you for any help, I'd just like to know what to prepare for for next summer and to be honest, from what I've been told, I'd much rather just keep it the same as last year. Here's to hoping I guess.

The length doesn't call for any different preparations and plans (job/vacation) will have to wait until it's official just like any other year. Do well this last semester for your commander's ranking, FA score, and GPA. Don't worry about the rest.

Edit: One thing you'll learn is that everything is a rumor and up for change until the FT manual comes out. Even then some things may differ.

This definitely holds true once on active duty...don't expect it to end at field training hahaha

I remember Bullet would always say don't believe you are PCSing to that base until you in-process there! No lie we had a friend that had orders to Panama, his household goods were on a slow boat from the UK to there. 1 week prior to PCSing his orders were rescinded and they sent him to Germany instead. It took him 3 months to get his stuff because he had to wait for it arrive in Panama and turn it back around on that slow boat.
