My DD just received a nomination to her 2nd choice Academy. We are very proud of her!
She still has two more interviews to go through though. Will our second Senator and our Congressman still want to interview her, or will they remove her from the interview list since she has a nomination already?
Also, what are the chances they gave her a nomination to the wrong Academy?

It just depends on what your state's representatives do. In Texas, the Senators will not double nominate where in other states individuals will receive nominations from all three MOCs.

The MOC's office would be the only way to know if they made a mistake. People do make mistakes.

Thank you for replying!
It wasn't a mistake. My DD said that the application for a nomination asks to list the academies in the order which you would attend. She had put USAFA as a second but never applied because her choices are USNA or USCGA. Trying to figure out how to keep the same thing from happening at her two other interviews! I think she should bring it up and let them know what her choices are.

I would suggest going back to the MOC's staffer and informing them of her desires. They may be able to move her around but it may also be the "right" thing to do as well. There is no reason to take a nomination for an academy you did not apply to.

So she rank ordered all 4 academies on the nomination forms, even though she only wants to get a nomination to USNA and has no desire to go to the other 3? If this is the case, then she needs to contact the other 2 MOC's offices ASAP and let them know she ONLY wants to request a nomination to USNA and did not/will not be applying to USMA, USAFA or USMMA. Some MOCs have separate interviews boards for each academy and will only interview them for one. When my DS applied for his nomination from the Senators, he had ranked USNA as his top choice and USMA as his second choice. For one senator, h was NOT selected to interview with the USNA board, but he was for the USMA board and received a nomination from them. The 2nd Senator would not give an appointment to him, as he already had one from the first Senator.

She told me she had to rank them in order for the interview! It's all so confusing!
I will tell her what you said and have her follow up with the other Senator and our Congressman. She would have only put USNA as the only choice if she thought she could.

Thank you
