DD is done with application, but nobody contact her yet for and interview, we hear that candidates that get an interview at SLE last summer may count as the interview ( made by a Cadet), but does not sounds accurate for me, she did it, but I understand, she should have a MALO or equivalent contacting her for and interview.... any advise, will be appreciated.

If I recall, USMA does not REQUIRE a MALO or FFR interview. (There are not enough FFR's to cover every geographic area).

It is nice to have but not mandatory.

Interviews are not required and not having an interview will not hurt your application. There are no WCS points for interviews.

SLE interviews count as an interview and candidates usually don't interview again with an FFR or MALO unless there is some compelling reason or if you live in an area with an abundance of FFR's.

However, if you are asked to interview you should consider it a requirement. It would be unwise to decline considering the person or people requesting the interview may be sitting on the MOC's nomination committee or may have some other indirect influence in the process.

My cadet never had an interview. Did not attend SLE.
He Saw WP for the first time the day before R-day.
Of course, there was an MOC interview., but nothing with WP directly.

My did had an interview at SLE (and yes, those interview notes do go into their WP file) but did not have one with his FFR. A couple years later I asked the FFR about this (I told him that I'd heard that most cadets were interviewed by the FFR and so wondered why my son wasn't interviewed) and he told me that based on the info in my son's file, he knew that he didn't need to interview him. My son is now a cadet at WP, so I guess there were nice things in his file. :)

The SLE interview is conducted by a cadet squad leader. If it it is positive, there will not normally be another interview. If it is negative, the RC may ask an FFR to redo the interview. The interview is part of the learning process for the squad leader. Admissions isn't going to ding a candidate based on the input of a 20 year old leader-in-training without corroborating that information through a second interview, SOE evaluations, etc.
