Hello!

I have been boarded for the AROTC Scholarship and I am awaiting news about my status but I have to give an update to a coach on where I stand with the AROTC scholarship in the next few days. I am a homeschooler with a 3.8 GPA unweighted which includes all honors classes and AP Chemistry, AP European History, AP English Language, AP English Literature, and AP US History. I did not take the SAT but my ACT super score is a 32 (25 math, 30 science, 35 english, 36 reading). I am planning on majoring in Russian at University of Wisconsin. Will my non-tech major hurt my chances?

I have done played at least two varsity sports all for years of high school and have been team captain twice. I row competitively at a high level and have some national awards and recognition. I was a top ranked cyclist in 9th and 10th grade. I am the president of a few clubs and have a lot of community service. I have two brothers who graduated from USNA and one who is a senior at USMA.

I'm sorry if this was long! An sort of insight on where I might stand would be helpful!

Thanks!

You are going to have to wait until first round results are released to know where you stand. You’ve applied, which means you have a chance. No one on this discussion board can tell you anything more.

Based on your stats, sports, and activities, you look like a strong candidate from my viewpoint. But only the board knows what the competition you're up against looks like. Best wishes.

As a 4 year scholarship winner your academic stats are very very strong. Higher than mine when I was in high school. Except i don't see any leadership positions. If you can join clubs and get leadership roles aside from sports. other than that keep the faith!

Also Army ROTC does not care what your major is, whether tech or non tech. Marine Option doesn't either. That's just for Navy option and Air Force.
