Does anyone know what the highest incoming PT score for the class of 2021 was and what the highest PT score for all current cadets is?

No idea. You'd probably have to ask a cadet for that information, and maybe they wouldn't even have it. I'm not sure if it's released or if it will get released. Are you asking for Sandhurst, the APFT, or the IOCT? If you clarify, a cadet may swoop in and give you an answer.

APFT...375 .... wrestler....from what i have heard from my 2018 who was a few points behind...

I thought the max score was 300. Could you explain how they score the APFT at USMA? I'd appreciate that information!

I was just wondering about both. I know the prep schools have "Ranger Challenge Teams" that compete across the country to qualify to come and participate at Sandhurst. I think they use the APFT and while a 300 is max there is an "extended scale" if you are able to go past the top scores. I think knowing the top scores just gives you something to shoot for and compete against. As I understand it, your PT scores will also have an impact on different clubs you may want to participate in. For example the CWT will only take 8 of the top PT people each year?

DS exceeded 300 at end of Beast- the scoring scales for the 3 events just max out at 100 for score of `X` so they extrapolate for scores above those levels. Find the scoring tables, plot a graph, estimate what score for above max would be. Just google AFPT- it's unclassified.

The cadets already on a particular club invite/select who they wish to join them on the club. That’s the criteria. Do your best in tryouts but don’t be naive and leave it to pure numbers- make an effort to get to know some of the team ahead of time.

The extended scale only comes into play when you have maxed (scored a 100) on each of the 3 APFT components. If you don't max on all 3, you cannot use the extended scale. I believe that for WP for a male 17-21, the push up max is 71, the sit up max is 78 and the 2-mile run max is 12:45. You get 1 point for every push up and every sit up over the max up to a maximum total of 125 for each. For the run, you get 1 point for every 6 seconds drop in time up to a total score of 125. The highest achievable score at WP is a 375. A score of 375 for a male 17-21 requires 96 push ups, 103 sit ups and a 10:30 2-mile run.

The CWT try outs consist of a physical component, an interview and a shooting evaluation component. It starts with the physical component. This year, Day 1 consisted of 5 hours of physical testing. They started the day with 41 candidates and by the end of Day 1, they had 17 left who made it through to the interview phase.
