I've seen a few LOAs here and there, but is there anyone here that has received an appointment or is aware of someone that has?

My ds received an LOA about 10 days ago. His first nomination appeared in his portal yesterday. Hopefully we will receive the final appointment very soon. We will let you know.

Yeah, I've heard of kids getting LOAs from USMA pretty recently. I guess another batch just went out! Congrats! From what it looks like with USAFA and USMA, appointments probably won't be going out until January...when the gears are all in place and turn well, some kids are appointed early. USNA seems to be in a good spot as far as that goes. Haven't heard of kids getting USAFA or USMA appointments for c/o 2022 yet.

Good luck, though, and make sure you tell me if you're appointed! I want to hear the outcome!

:D (And go Army)

I was officially notified by USAFA this morning that I had earned an offer of appointment. I received an LOA last Wednesday. Last Friday I was nominated by both my JROTC Honor Unit and my Congressman (CO District 06). In addition, I received a LOA from USNA aprox. 2 weeks ago; however, USAFA is definitely the way I want to go.

Well congrats! One of my best friends is a Chair Force Zoomie...;)! Love her to death and just sent her a letter. Haha! Just messing with you.

Great job and good luck! Go future officers 2022!

Congratulations! I think yours is the first USAFA appointment on this forum this year.

DS also received an offer of appointment with a JROTC nomination. MOC nominations have not been released yet in our state. We were very surprised and excited -- made for a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Also heard that a distant cousin by marriage had received an appointment as well. So there are a some offers that have been given.

Congrats to all of you! I originally thought with my qualifications I might be able to get an assurance/appointment but haven't heard yet. So what kind of "stats" do you guys have? Test scores, grades, activities, etc.

Oh my god I can see why you got offered an LOA. Your qualifications are amazing. But your class is only 28 people? Youre lucky. my class is around 1000 people.

SAs look for kids with varying class sizes. A friend of mine who goes to USMA graduated from a class of 30-40 kids, another one from there who was homeschooled, and there are plenty of kids from my school (classes of roughly 220) who attend Service Academies. I have another friend who is going to Navy for a sport and his school's classes are around 800 kids.

I remember the academy asking for your school profile so they can judge how difficult your school is so they don't judge your class rank unfairly.

I am 100% sure that trying to get kids with varying class sizes is not a metric used by USAFA. Ultimately because of what the Academy is looking for in it's candidates, they get kids from all different class sizes. However, the size of their class is not in any way used as a measure when looking at potential cadets.
