Does majoring in a critical language increase chances of getting an intel slot? I've heard conflicting statements. Some say major has no impact on what job you get unless you're an engineer. But my detachment CO said that it seemed like half the kids that got selected for intel were language majors. Also, when you make your job dream sheet they make you put down the number of language credits that you have taken. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would say no. Granted I was not a language major but I put intel down as #1 on my dream sheet and I was fluent in Chinese along with 10 semester hours worth of Arabic and I ended up getting CyberSpace Ops. Cyberspace Ops was my number #3.

Really, that's interesting. I'm assuming that you had to meet the minimum 24 hour tech requirement.

I didn't even know there that requirement. I know I had some tech experience but not 24 hours at least to my knowledge. I did know out of the 126 Cyber slots open this year, I was one of the 26 selected who werent tech majors.
