I've heard that the shoes have to be completely white or the majority of it white. Will someone care to share what is true? Also, I was thinking about wearing a some what new, broken in pair on I-Day and having the new pair in my duffel bag.

Now that I think about it, what others items should I bring that are not on the recommended list? I would hate to not have brought something with me that I was able to bring. :frown:

Thank you!

another question that goes along with shoes.
I wear inserts for my flat feet and I have multiple pairs. on I-day I'll wear one pair in my shoes but I thought they take everything else that you bring and issue you everything. So I'm guessing I will only have one pair then. will I be able to keep my other inserts for my shoes later on?

Yes. They're supposed to be all white, but it's darn hard to find shoes that are 100% white. White with a blue accent is still mostly white. White with black stripes on the side is probably still mostly white.

Black is not white. White toes with orange sides and blue backs...is not mostly white. Yes, it's a judgement call. Use good judgement.

There is nothing that is not on the list that you should take. You don't get to keep much. Your shoes, your wallet...your calculator. That's about it. Don't overpack.

Shoes - get the shoes you are used to - i.e. don't go changing brands to find white shoes.

I wear a certain brand - always have and i am a runner. LOL The were white with gold and black stripes - Yes Army Colors. They were fine. No one ever said a word about not being "white"

You will wear the issued shoes for most everything. For sports in the afternoon - if you are running - you will wear your own running shoes - for PEP in the morning I also was able to wear my running shoes.

Don't fret over the color of your shoes - just make sure they fit, and they are what your feet are used to.

Maria - only wear the "new but broken in" pair, they will issue you another pair, and I don't think there is room in your closet for 3 pairs of tennis shoes...

Having a spare pair of broken in running shoes isn't absolutely necessary, but you will have room enough, if you care to bring them. If your one pair is new enough to last for 6 weeks, that's sufficient. Yes, you will be issued "running shoes," but many Mids don't like them. Mine threw her issued shoes away once Plebe Summer was over.

After PS, you will have more access to the Mid Store to buy replacement shoes. They have MANY brands of running shoes, they're tax free and at good prices.

I love underarmour and have been wearing them for about 3 years now, so I went and picked up the pair that my feet seem to love! They were great because they took away the pain from shin splints that I had when running cross-country :)

I heard compression shorts were allowed in a later part of the summer. Is this true? If so, what color must they be?

I also had a question about the 'white round neck cotton undershirts.' Do they mean regular white t-shirts? Or do they mean something along the lines of 'wifebeaters.'

I apologize for all the questions, heh. But better that they be asked than be kept in and get in trouble later.

Thank you!

Maria,

I'm really hoping that they aren't going to check what kind of undergarments I am wearing. I would a) be totally weirded out, and b) be disappointed that I don't get compression shorts.

as for shirts: plain, white, crewneck T-shirts would be my most reasonable guess.
