Shoot! No he just received his appointment to the prep school today. I guess I read that wrong and should delete it..?

If I understand correctly, you add your appointment to the list and put "Prep School" if you were a Prep School re-applicant and successfully gained your appointment to the Academy.
 
Not sure on who or why is selected for the P School, each decision from what I understand is different. No you did not need to receive a nomination to go to the Prep School but my DS did receive one. He tends to be extremely strong in interviews. He had one weak area in his application -
does anyone know how I delete the post removing him from the thread. We are traveling - maybe I’m not getting strong enough service right now but it’s not giving me an option to edit or delete.
I’m sorry folks - my mistake but really so exciting:)

Yes, although I am not exactly sure how they choose. My understanding is they review applicants, choose those that are direct admits, not qualified, and candidates for prep or a falcon scholarship. Those that are chosen for the prep school are excellent candidates who the Academy wants; but missing something from their application. Most likely their grades or SAT scores. My son was selected as a preppie and is now in his second year at the academy.
 
What are the districts of the Congressional nominations of the people who got appointments. Please include those so we know if our MOC appointment is then taken.

Grandson's initial nomination was from our senior senator who does a principal nominee with ranked alternates. He was the principal nominee for USAFA and 1st alternate for USNA.

We believe the appointment was based on that nomination as it came soon after his LOA. He subsequently received a nomination from our congressman, AZ CD-1, to both academies but that was nearly 3 weeks ago and does not yet appear on either portal. Our congressman does a competitive slate and not a principal nominee with ranked alternates.

Our two senators coordinate with the junior senator doing a competitive slate. Grandson felt best about that interview but did not receive a nomination to either of the two SAs to which he applied. Instead, the junior senator nominated him to USMA.

While this is certainly relevant when determining how many noms per district may remain, it also provides information that may enable a candidate to be eventually identified. Please consider this before posting MOC data.

(Kudos to Capt MJ and AROTC-dad for pointing this out).
