does anyone know what the requirements are for the eye exam? One of my eyes corrects to 20/25 and the other corrects to 20/40.. do I still have a shot? Thx

That sounds like a question you need to ask DODMERB? But based on my DS experience, USCGA was the strictest on correctable eye solution. Other SAs USMA, USNA, USAFA were all similar with eye requirement. They were all fine as long as eyes were correctable to 20/20 with surgery that they would have to perform in your 1C after you turn 21. So do not touch your eyes. You can try and see if DODMERB will give you an answer. You can google it. I think you should be able to get your answer from each service websites. I know Air Force publish their conditions online. I wish you much good luck on this and I hope you will be fine with your eyes condition!

For the USMA and ROTC, one of your eyes has to be correctable to 20/20 and the other can be no worse (with correction) than 20/40.

The other issue, and probably more important, you have to worry about is why aren’t you correctable to 20/20 in either eye? That’s not normal. There some other pathology going on. The cause for why you’re not correctable to 20/20 can be DQ also.
