Army ROTC Scholarship Whole Person Score Breakdown

I see a lot of threads of people asking how competitive they are or don't understand the National Process. You are boarded only once and receive a score out of 1400 points. After you are bordered you are placed on the Order of Merit List (OML) for consideration. After each board, students are selected for scholarship in OML order. Below is the breakdown of the 1400 points.

Key points
- ROTC programs can only see the 200 Interview points. Of those 200 points, the interviewer only awards you up to 80 pts. The remaining 120pts are based on your GPA, SAT score, Varsity letters, and leadership positions.
- You will never know what your CBEF (250) and Board (350) scores are.
- You can figure out your PFA score (out of 160) with the scoring sheet below.
- We don't know the scoring table for SAT/ACT (249) or SAL (201)

Quick question, does the evaluation of Army ROTC battalion based scholarships differ in criteria at all from the above? e.g. APFT instead of PFT, and instead of GPA/SAT are progress grades in college classes reviewed instead? (I imagine this varies a lot by brigade or even at the battalion level).

During his freshman year as a "walk-on" AROTC cadet, my DS earned a 3 year campus based AD (later upgraded to 3.5), before his fall grades came in, and he never even applied Nationally when he was in High School.

Yes, campus based scholarships are evaluated by whatever process each individual ROTC program chooses. Most of them will evaluate the cadets GPA, APFT score, extra curricular activities and performance in the ROTC program.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown
DS was boarded on the first board and we are still waiting. Is the Whole Person Score from the first board final for the OML or would it be adjusted if improved SATs were sent in prior to second board. Original SATs 1190 were his only weak area, all other stats are as good as or exceed many of the 4yrs that we have seen posted. New SATs added 60 pts.

Typically scores are not updated after a student has been boarded.
